Accanto al già amato format “Oltre la rete”, “Senti questa” nasce con l’intento di creare un legame ancora più forte con tifosi, appassionati e semplici curiosi. Un filo invisibile che unisce emozioni diverse, ma ugualmente vere. Oggi ai microfoni c’è Sarah Van Aalen.
Sarah, hai un idolo, un punto di riferimento nella pallavolo?
Onestamente non ho un idolo. I miei modelli sono sempre state le mie sorelle maggiori!
Quale canzone o playlist ti carica prima di una partita?
Non inizio una partita se prima non ho ascoltato Bad Bunny!
Stai ancora studiando Criminologia?
Sì, mi mancano ancora cinque corsi da completare.
Se non facessi questo lavoro, cosa ti piacerebbe fare nella vita?
Probabilmente avrei finito prima gli studi e, se ne avessi avuto la possibilità, mi sarebbe piaciuto lavorare all’interno di un carcere.
Qual è il tuo sogno? Sia nello sport che fuori.
Nella pallavolo vorrei qualificarmi un’altra volta per le Olimpiadi. Nella vita, il mio sogno è passare tanto tempo con le persone che amo.
Qual è la storia più bella che puoi raccontarmi?
Quando quest’estate ho giocato la mia centesima partita con la Nazionale, proprio nella città dove sono cresciuta e nella palestra dove giocavo da piccola con la mia squadra.
Che consiglio daresti ai giovani che vogliono seguire il tuo percorso?
Divertitevi tanto. È la cosa più importante: divertirsi, godersi ogni parte del percorso. Così tutto diventa più facile.
Hai animali domestici?
Oh sì, abbiamo due cani, dieci galline, due cavalli e due conigli a casa!
È un nuovo anno a Chieri: cosa ami di più di questa squadra?
Amo la nostra chimica. Conoscevo già molte ragazze, quindi per me è stato più facile inserirmi, anche se sono arrivata successivamente. Sento che giochiamo davvero insieme e ci aiutiamo tanto, dentro e fuori dal campo.
Quest’estate sei stata protagonista sia in VNL che al Mondiale. Qual è il ricordo più emozionante che ti porti dietro?
Probabilmente la vittoria contro la Serbia al Mondiale e l’accesso alle prime otto del mondo. Mi è piaciuta moltissimo anche la VNL: abbiamo giocato una settimana davanti al nostro pubblico, è stato davvero speciale e bellissimo.

Who is your volleyball idol or role model, and why?
Honestly I don’t have a volleyball idol. My role models were always my big sisters!
What song or playlist pumps you up before a match?
I like to listen to Bad Bunny before the game.
Are you still studying Criminology?
Yes, I need to do five more classes!
If you weren’t doing this job, what would you like to do in life?
I would have finished my studies earlier and work in a prison if I have the chance.
What is your dream? Both in sports and outside of it
In volleyball I would like to qualify another time for the olympics. In life my dream is to spend a lot of time with my loves ones!
What’s the strangest/most emotional/most beautiful story you can tell me? It can be related to volleyball or your personal life… A special or crazy experience, or a meeting you’ll never forget…
Maybe related to volleyball is that I played my 100th game for the national team in the city where i grew up and also in the gym where i always played with my team when i was youger. It was this summer.
Any advice for young people who want to follow your path?
Mostly to have a lot of fun. That’s the most important thing, have fun, enjoy all the parts of the road and then it becomes easier.
Do you have any pets? If so, tell me something about them
We have 2 dogs, 10 chickens, 2 horses and 2 bunnies at home!
It’s a new year in Chieri. What do you love most about this team?
I love the chemistry in the team. I knew already a lot of girls from the team, so it was easier for me to join the team eve though I arrived late. I feel like we really play together and we help each other on and off the court. I enjoy playing with them!
This summer you were a key player in both the VNL and the World Championship. What is the most beautiful memory and the most valuable lesson you take away from that experience?
The most beautiful memory is probably winning against Serbia in the world championship and making it to the top 8 of the world. But I also really enjoyed the vnl, we played one week in front of our home crowd, this was very special and amazing!
